How women are taking on the men of banking. Winning in the boardroom and at Cannes 2017.

In honour of International Women’s Day, McCann NY introduces ‘The Fearless Girl’ – a statue of a daring young girl, standing strong in front of the bull on Wall Street. Why? Because companies with women in leadership perform better. The project was created in partnership with the agency’s client State Street Global Advisors. Kristen Visbal created the statue, with photography from Federica Valabrega.

“We believe good corporate governance is a function of strong, effective and independent board leadership,” said Ron O’Hanley, president and chief executive officer of SSGA. “A key contributor to effective independent board leadership is diversity of thought, which requires directors with different skills, backgrounds, and expertise. Today, we are calling on companies to take concrete steps to increase gender diversity on their boards and have issued clear guidance to help them begin to take action.”

The Fearless Girl is a symbol of the power of female leadership – both today and tomorrow.
